Limited Edition Listen pendant

by Lucy Hearn

In July this year a competition was opened to all RMIT Gold and Silversmithing students. Five finalists were selected to develop a prototype. From these prototypes one design was chosen, to be produced as a limited edition collection exclusively for e.g.etal. Lucy Hearn’s design, Listen was selected as the inaugural winner of this prize, which includes a $4200 prize package. Lucy, a master’s student, has hand-made 25 Listen pendants, which are individually numbered, never to be repeated and on sale at e.g.etal now, until sold out.

Lucy’s design was chosen for it’s careful composition of subtle and contrasting elements. She has used the traditional technique of enamelling to create a series of small, white cup-like elements. Using plastic beads in various colours, she has riveted enamel and silver elements together. “It is a clever and very sculptural juxtaposition of vintage techniques combined with contemporary materials,” says e.g.etal Director Ali Limb.

Retail Price: $490.
Available from e.g.etal only.
