Giving Beads

In 2008 a group of Australian jewellery designers/artisans were invited to produce one unique bead. These beads have now been strung together to make a series of necklaces. At a very special ticketed cocktail party the series of necklaces will be auctioned.

Each necklace is a collection of individual beads, handmade by independent jewellers/designers. Some consisting of one bead through to the major piece made completely of these unique beads.  Every piece is a collector’s item. Some beads include small Argyle diamonds, donated by e.g.etal.

This year we are really aiming to grow the profile of Giving Beads. With that in mind we are holding Giving Beads as part of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Cultural Program. And Comme have generously sponsored Giving Beads, providing the catering for a cocktail party.

Virginia Trioli will be the MC on the evening. Jane Devery, Assistant Curator, Contemporary Art at the NGV is the judge, and has nominated 3 beads for a prize.

Other auction and raffle prizes include a night at The Prince Hotel, luxury treatments and products from Aurora Spa Retreat, Dinner for 2 at Comme, a night at Sofitel Werribee Park Mansion Hotel & Spa, jewellery from e.g.etal, vouchers from fantastic fashion/design stores, magazine subscriptions (including (inside) and Architectural Review) and more.....
